At Siegfried, our Higher Purpose extends beyond delivering client value; it’s about sparking lifelong transformation, for both our clients and our people.

Through our unique business model, ambitious accounting and finance professionals can explore new areas under client direction, experience exponential growth, and reflect on their journeys – determining the work that’s most fulfilling to them and, ultimately, what they want out of their careers in the long run.

This growth isn’t contained within Siegfried’s walls. We’re committed to forming the long-term relationships that promote continual transformation and meaningful impact in any endeavor. We’ve seen countless professionals gain the confidence and clarity to follow their ambitious dreams – whether that’s at Siegfried, doing something completely different, or somewhere in-between – and we remain close every step of the way.

Dive into the stories of three Siegfried professionals who explored compelling opportunities outside the Firm before returning to Siegfried on the path to meaningful success.

From Siegfried to CFO to Siegfried again

Dominic, Associate Manager in Philadelphia, spent three years ingrained in Siegfried’s culture and offerings – experiencing complex engagements across industries and immersing himself in MY Relationships™ as a Relationship Team Leader – before following his ambition and joining a real estate development firm as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). He spent six and a half months in that position, building out the company’s accounting and finance function, becoming a better leader, and taking in the challenge.

“It was a big shift from my previous roles, and I learned firsthand what it takes to run a business from the ground up,” shared Dominic. “I now have a broader perspective and deeper appreciation for end-to-end operations.”

Dominic’s practice with facing unfamiliar situations and executing to a high level at Siegfried equipped him with the confidence needed to jump into the CFO position. And it was the memory of that difficult yet rewarding work – that experience with interesting and challenging client projects – which brought Dominic back.

“I craved the variety of clients at Siegfried and the complexity of the solutions we provide,” he explained. “I’m excited to solve client challenges in an entrepreneurial environment. Since coming back, I’ve started working on a system implementation at a multimedia retailer. It feels like a natural continuation of my journey.”

Dominic also missed the personal growth that comes from being surrounded by Siegfried SEALs – the high-caliber professionals we attract – and the Firm’s emphasis on cultivating and maintaining meaningful relationships within that network.

“Siegfried’s unique business model allows for exponential personal and professional growth, which I wanted to build on again,” said Dominic. “Long-term, I foresee my continued development through Siegfried’s MY Journey® and MY Relationships™ programs.”

Lifelong learning and nonlinear growth

Spencer, Senior Manager, has long been energized by learning and expanding his knowledge across diverse areas. It was this enthusiasm for new experiences that drove him to Siegfried’s business model – where he could explore a variety of project types and roles following a four-year stint in public accounting. And after six years of interesting and challenging work at the Firm, it was this same passion that encouraged him to try something different.

Spencer was given the chance to spend 14 months at a start-up specializing in multi-property operations, and with Siegfried’s focus on following your dreams top of mind, he jumped at the opportunity.

“At the start-up, I played a key role in lean process optimization and financial data analysis,” said Spencer. “I also strengthened my skills in vendor negotiations, RFP management, and multi-operational budgeting. These are valuable capabilities that I can draw upon into the future.”

While at Siegfried, Spencer developed strong connections as a Team Leader, and throughout his time away, he remained in regular contact with several of his former colleagues. Siegfried’s relationship-based culture and authentic care for personal and professional growth stuck with him – ultimately driving his return.

“I missed working for an organization that genuinely invests in its people – not only in their professional development, but also in their personal growth,” Spencer explained. “At Siegfried, I experienced significant growth in areas such as relationship building, leadership, and self-development. That commitment to holistic growth was a major factor in my decision to return.”

Spencer’s first project back was new and exciting – a Controller role at a capital management client. He also returned as a member of Siegfried’s 19th and newest market in Dallas-Fort Worth, TX, where he immediately dove into growing his professional network and becoming a better individual leader.

“I see my future at Siegfried as an opportunity to continue building my skills and expanding my expertise. Through a referral from market leadership, I’m participating in the TXCPA Dallas 2025 Leadership Development Academy. I’m gaining additional tools to become a more impactful and effective professional.”

Consistent reflection and following fulfillment

Eric’s, Senior Manager, career journey has been framed by continual self-reflection and reevaluating the path to fulfillment. At Siegfried, he acted as a trusted advisor for dynamic clients across industries, leading him to a full-time FP&A role at a biotechnology company. As a Finance Business Partner, Eric worked with R&D to develop, track, and adjust their budgets, supporting the company’s overall operational goals.

“I helped non-accounting professionals understand their respective financials and what it meant to them,” said Eric. “I’ll bring this skill back to Siegfried, helping my future clients to understand technical topics and make the best, numbers-based business and operational decisions.”

Although Eric spent two years away from Siegfried, he remained in touch with our Higher Purpose of personal and professional growth – engaging in deep self-reflection both within and outside the Firm’s offerings. He attended several MY Journey® local events as a Siegfried alumnus, which encouraged him to reflect on his mindset and dreams. Eric took the time to reevaluate his career and what he wanted his life to look like three, five, ten years down the line.

“Nothing excited me as much as the idea of coming back to Siegfried,” Eric reflected. “The people, culture, and unique business model truly do invigorate and excite me to bring my 100% every day. Siegfried is a special place to be.”
