Becoming comfortable with creative tension

Where are you now, and how is it different from where you want to be? What does the space between you and your dreams look and feel like for you? This inspired, yet daunting gap between your current reality and your vision for the future is known as creative tension.

Though this tension can be uncomfortable and even intimidating, it is important for your growth to truthfully consider what lies between your present self and your greatest aspirations. Often, to lessen the discomfort of creative tension, people are dishonest about where they currently are in their lives, convincing themselves that they are satisfied when they aren’t. Others lie about where they want to go. They don’t set high goals for themselves, and the dreams they accomplish aren’t ambitious or satisfying either. In both cases, no meaningful self-improvement is made and fulfillment is out of reach.

The first step to truly growing and becoming the best, most inspired version of yourself is having the courage and humility to be honest about and comfortable with your creative tension. From there, you can leverage this tension to energize you and ambitiously work toward achieving your most fulfilling dreams.
