At Siegfried, we encourage our employees to transform into the best versions of themselves, and part of optimizing your potential is becoming irresistibly compelling and seriously relevant. These are character ethic traits that we ambitiously work to possess, both individually as professionals and collectively as a Firm.

But what exactly does it mean to be irresistibly compelling and seriously relevant?

Being compelling relates to the heart, soul, and emotions. It’s the draw that people feel toward you, energizing them to engage with you and form a genuine connection. It means evoking interest, attention, or admiration in a powerfully irresistible way.

Relevance, on the other hand, is more about the mind, logic, and intellect. Being relevant refers to having significance to a person, conversation, or topic. It involves meaningfully and seriously demonstrating knowledge, insight, and bearing in the matter at hand.

Despite their differences, being compelling and being relevant aren’t totally separate concepts – in fact, they’re synergistically connected to each other. The more compelling you are, the more people will seek your advice and want to hear your thoughts and logical reasoning. Conversely, the more relevant, knowledgeable, and mentally agile you are, the more interesting and compelling you will be.

It’s critical that you become compelling and relevant for yourself before you can be so for others. To do this, consider some of the character ethic traits and intangibles that you admire or find relevant in those around you, and work toward emulating them. For example, Siegfried’s Founder & CEO, Rob Siegfried, enjoys collaborating with those who can quickly size up a situation and take a stance with courage and conviction. This is a quality of relevance that he is inspired to demonstrate himself.

Getting in touch with what you value and would like to work on in yourself is the first step toward becoming irresistibly compelling and seriously relevant, both internally and externally to those around you, and bringing you closer to your best self.
