Siegfried professionals integrate seamlessly into client teams to support both strategic initiatives and day-to-day execution. We absorb the common challenges associated with large projects – like system implementations – to get work done better, faster, and more cost effectively. Artificial intelligence (AI) is a powerful tool in making this possible.

Jordan, a Manager in Washington, D.C., joined the finance risk management team on a leading global AI company to assist with their system implementation related to IT general controls (ITGC). While she brought a strong background in controls and risk mitigation, she had limited IT experience. Jordan leveraged her client’s AI (ChatGPT enterprise) to get up to speed in a highly technical environment, allowing her to immediately provide quality deliverables without disruption to management and her team.

“As a Siegfried professional, when entering client environments where I might not have direct experience, I know how to leverage my mental and digital agility, along with the resources at my disposal – like AI – to adapt,” reflected Jordan.

Using AI to elevate quality, speed, and collaboration

Using ChatGPT enterprise responsibly and in line with her client’s policies and procedures, Jordan accelerated her understanding of IT concepts and effectively infused IT considerations into control documentation, policies, and standards. She also used ChatGPT to help prepare process narratives and flowcharts tied to the system implementation – creating comprehensive documentation that added value beyond both her role and time on the project.

“By helping with process documentation and technical research, AI bolstered my ability to make the finance risk team stronger,” Jordan said. “If you give it the right directions, AI is an incredibly useful tool and time-saver.”

“Additionally, because AI helped me prepare work more quickly, I got deliverables through to review earlier, which resulted in better feedback and alignment. This meant that my end product consistently met and surpassed expectations. I could then raise my hand to take on ad hoc tasks and help the team in areas outside my defined role.”

One of these areas was meeting notes and project plans. As Jordan was an East Coast professional on a West Coast client, AI-generated recordings and summaries ensured that time zone differences never limited collaboration or responsiveness. These auto-generated meeting materials also helped her and the broader team stay organized so they could move projects forward more efficiently.

“Ultimately, AI is a time-saver for manual tasks, a research tool that allows me to be more plugged in on my clients, and a resource that helps me add greater value.”

In summary, Jordan’s AI use case included:

  • Accelerating her understanding of ITGC concepts and system implementation requirements through enhanced technical accounting research.
  • Preparing process narratives, flowcharts, and control documentation more accurately and efficiently.
  • Enhancing review procedures and deliverable quality.
  • Supporting a system implementation and project coordination through AI-generated meeting summaries and action item tracking.
