As we move into the busy months of fall, fresh off a summer of fun, the days get shorter and schedules get more chaotic. Coming home from a long day of work and other responsibilities can mean relief. You’ve made it through another day, and now it’s time to veg out in front of the TV. A few deep breaths later and you’re more than just a few episodes into the latest Netflix Original.

We all have our days when just rolling out of bed takes everything we’ve got. Are you tired and burned out? Have you set the right goals for yourself? Do you find yourself thinking you could be doing something else that provides more challenge and stimulation? Are you scared of something? Any of these things can be demotivating, but finding the source and addressing it can make getting out of a bed a lot easier.

Sometimes, the combination of work responsibilities and the demands of friends and family can put you in a rut, too stressed out and overwhelmed to make progress on any of your goals, and definitely too distracted to be a joy to spend time with.
