Kelly earned her degree in social studies education from University of Delaware, and her Masters in Applied Technology and Leadership certificate from Wilmington University. She has taught Social Studies at Hodgson Vo-Tech for the past 15 years and graduate courses at Wilmington for the past 10. Teaching is her true passion and being an advisor to National Honor Society, Blue Gold/Project Unify and the Senior Class is icing on the cake! She loves spending time with her husband and two young daughters, socializing with her friends, and being outdoors. When she is not teaching or leading a group of students, she is an avid runner and audio book junkie!
Debunking common myths about youth leadership

Youth leadership is a fairly common phrase. But if you asked most people to describe youth leadership, I think they’d come up a little short. They would focus on how it helps the “smartest” kids with the “highest potential” build a conventionally successful future. But as a high school teacher and advisor, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful leadership training for students can be when done in a way that speaks to everyone and focuses on becoming a leader from the inside out.
